Stained Glass 101: Create a Window Masterpiece

Discover the timeless art of stained glass and create a beautiful piece to display in your window or pass down as a treasured family heirloom. In this hands-on class, you’ll learn essential stained glass techniques, including:

  • Glass cutting and breaking
  • Grinding and copper foiling
  • Soldering, framing, and cleaning

You'll complete at least one finished project using patterns provided by the instructor. Tools and patterns are supplied in class. After the first session, students will need to purchase materials including glass, foil, solder, flux, safety glasses, and markers.

Safety Note: Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes for all sessions.

Akalia Woods

Akalia Woods has pursued artistic endeavors since childhood, working in a variety of art and craft-related fields and selling many of her handmade creations. Seven years ago, she began an apprenticeship at a local stained glass studio, where she learned both traditional and modern techniques. For the past five years, Akalia has taught fused and stained glass classes, sharing her knowledge through the Community Education Program. Her passion for craftsmanship and creativity shines through in every class, as she helps students build confidence while creating beautiful, lasting works of art.
