Interested in expanding your skills in the medical field? This Basic Peripheral IV Therapy course is ideal for those pursuing careers in IV insertion, infusion therapy, and venipuncture. Designed for students with prior phlebotomy training, the class includes a combination of lecture and hands-on clinical experience.

Key topics include: psychological preparation of the patient, proper vein selection, universal precautions for infection control, blood withdrawal techniques, and administration of IV medications. Students will gain experience setting up IV equipment, maintaining sterile technique, and performing supervised IV insertions.

Each student will complete five individually supervised IV insertions on live human subjects, ensuring real-world application of skills. This training prepares participants for work in hospitals, urgent care, outpatient clinics, and other healthcare settings where IV therapy is essential.
