Ready to find your way in the wild—without relying on GPS? Join us for an action-packed outdoor navigation course that blends backcountry skills with real-life adventure. Taught by Joe Brandl, a survival expert who’s led hundreds of groups through rugged terrain (and even braved Naked and Afraid), this course is your gateway to exploring nature with confidence.
You’ll learn and apply:
- How to navigate using the sun, stars, and cardinal directions
- Reading topographic maps and using a compass with ease
- Navigation without tools—using natural landmarks and celestial cues
- Orienteering through a mapped outdoor course
- A field challenge that includes shelter setup, fire-starting, and water purification checkpoints
This course stands strong on its own but also complements the skills taught in our Outdoor Survival Series. If you have attended previous courses some navigation skills are required. Whether your looking to sharpen your wilderness know- or just asses your prowess this challenge is for you. You'll walk away empowered and energized.
